Climate Change Weather Crisis
Updated: Mar 3, 2022

When the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" came out by former vice-president Al Gore in 2006 not many people payed attention to it's crucial message of global warming awareness and environmental protection, although it won two Academy awards including "Best Documentary Feature." The revolutionary film was said to reenergize the environmental movement, but many people were still skeptical that our negligent actions were having such profound negative effects on our planet. Global efforts to spread environmental protection awareness has since then became a top priority for activists and environmentalists, like Leonardo DiCaprio, James Cameron, Greta Thunberg & David Attenborough among many others. Now with new popular movies like DiCaprio's most recent 2021 film "Don’t look Up" more people are becoming more aware of the dangers and effects of climate change and steps we can all take to reverse the drastic effects to bring our planet back to a healthy condition. Other environmental movies and documentaries like "Seaspiracy," "The Race To Save The World," "Virunga," "Blackfish," & "Who Killed the Electric Car," featuring popular environmentalists & celebrities, have brought evergrowing attention to these critical environmental issues. Famous BBC broadcaster, & biologist David Attenborough has recently came out with the new documentaries "Extinction: The Facts," "A Life On Our Planet," & a new series "The Green Planet" that premiered this year on BBC Earth. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019 there have been even more extreme atmospheric & weather events that have drastically effected our entire planet. Hellish fires on the west coast that caused record breaking damage, extreme hurricanes and typhoons like Ida, Elsa, & Eunice causing over billions of dollars worth of damage. Rogue EF4 tornadoes destroying everything in its path, record winds in London & over 5 different volcanoes erupting over the last two years. Organizations like have teamed up together to advocate for climate change and environmental protection legislation. Many new bills have been passed and are being introduced to implement solar energy requirements for new buildings, and factories.
