CO2 Levels Break Records

When we think of CO2 levels or methane in the air we think of greenhouse gases or otherwise pollution from burning fossil fuels. Humans started burning fossil fuel 200 years ago with the start of the industrial revolution and the invention of the first steam engine. Ever since this revolutionary atmospheric changing even on our planet our CO2 levels have risen over 50% of the total increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide since the onset of the industrial revolution, and more than 20% in the last 40 years. carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations have risen from 280 ppm to nearly 380 parts per million (ppm) a fact that is due virtually entirely to human activities. Our global temperature has also increased 1 degree Celcius, and the natural background extinction rate have increased 100 times hire than Earth's 'normal' extinction rate which is somewhere between 0.1 and 1 species per 10,000 species per 100 years. Many scientists and scholars have all predicted 6 to 10 inches by 2030, 14 to 26 inches by 2060 and 31 to 61 inches by 2100, levels which have already risen 3.6 inches since 1993. These scientists also predict that we will continue to see rising extreme weather events unless we all take immediate action and precautions to save our dying planet. Already in the last two years our planet has seen increasingly abnormal weather events such as record breaking typhoon & hurricane winds, massive flooding, glaciers melting, volcanoes erupting & extreme wildfire destruction along the west coast. The 2021 California wildfires that released a record 4.2 gigatons of C02 in the air drastically increasing our already fragile levels. Many environmentalists and climate change activists have brought about efforts such as the Paris Agreement where 193 countries banded together to significantly reduce carbon emissions to stay below 1.5 °C. Our global temperature is currently at 1°C. Emissions will need to be cut by roughly 50% by 2030 to avoid reaching deadly Counter Earth levels, a phase where the planet becomes so hot that we will cease to have fresh water, 1/3 of our species will face extinction, forests will be deserts and millions displaced.
