Do-It-Yourself Solar Systems This Summer!

With rising climate change issues and environmental devastation from pollution and natural disasters, now more than ever humans should be considering new back up energy options and self production of essential resources such as food and water. From the power outages in Texas to increased volcano activity across the globe, we don’t know when our energy resources may be compromised. This is why it is so important to consider going solar now, sooner than later. By starting your own home solar movement you will be ahead of the charging curve ball new solar energy systems throw at us. If you start depending on your solar panels the first day you install them you will be limiting yourself to the daily power production limits of your system. By starting to charge your system early while your power companies are still available and functioning, you can have fully charged batteries to last you months or years ahead of its daily production levels. The first step to going solar is finding out your average kilowatt usage. You can do this by calling your power company and requesting Killowatts used per hour, per day day, and annually. That way you will know what kind of solar powers you need to sustain your current energy usage. Many companies offer fully off-grid systems with batteries and inverters included that you can install completely on your own, or with the help of some tech savvy friends. I would not recommend signing up with a solar company that finances you an elaborate $20k + system. This will only sink you into many years of debt and offers little relief off of your power bill. Going fully off-grid provides you the freedom and comfort of having a fully functioning power system in the case of a power outage or any unexpected weather event. This is why it is so important to start considering investing in renewable sustainable solar energy systems, so you will always be prepared in case of a national or global power emergency. Let me know if you guys have any tips or tricks when it comes to installing your own solar systems ! Feel free to leave us a note in the comments!
